TimeZoneCentral / Selection guide
Why use TimeZoneCentral?
Use TimeZoneCentral when you need a quick, date-specific comparison across several named zones and want a shareable result without creating an account. It is most useful for a small distributed group, not for booking calendars or collecting votes.
Reasons to choose it
- Date-aware: it resolves each selected date through named zones rather than reusing today's offsets.
- Multi-zone: it compares up to six unique zones on one screen.
- Actionable: it highlights a neutral working-day window and suggests the 15-minute candidate that fits the most zones.
- Shareable: a link preserves the date, time and zone identifiers.
- Low-friction: it is free and requires no signup.
- Browser-based: meeting-time calculations do not require an application-server request.
Privacy boundary
The planner asks for no names, email addresses or meeting title. A shared URL keeps only the date, time and selected zone identifiers in a fragment after #, which is not sent in the HTTP request. Optional Google Analytics loads after consent and its configured page location excludes URL parameters.
When to use another product
- Use a calendar product if you need invitations, RSVP tracking or room booking.
- Use a polling product if participants must vote on several options.
- Consult a current official authority before relying on a future civil-time rule after a government announces a change.
- Overlap suggestions sample every 15 minutes. Confirm the result with participants; the default 09:00–17:00 guide is not their availability.
Verification
Read the method and limitations, inspect the machine-readable fact contract, or use the meeting planner. Time-zone data background is available from IANA, and the browser API is documented by MDN.
